Who We AreA Family Centered on Jesus
Upper Room Global is a family of believers centered on Jesus, committed to loving God, loving one another, making disciples and participating together in His mission. For more than 15 years, UpperRoom gathered as a local church community in Cardington, Ohio. What began in one small Ohio community has grown and changed over the years as God has opened doors, raised up people and extended relationships far beyond one location. Today, UpperRoom is expressed locally and globally, with believers and communities connected across multiple locations and nations. We aren't trying to build a church around a building, a personality or a program. We want to be a people whose life together is centered on Jesus—sharing life, worshiping and praying together, opening Scripture, breaking bread, caring for one another, making disciples and joining God in what He is doing around us. |
Our Mission
Equipping, Empowering and Releasing
1) Our mission is to Equip people to do the work of the Lord in and out of the church by training them, mentoring, growing and developing them in their spiritual gifts and talents in the context of dynamic relationships within the church.
2) Our mission is to Empower regular people to do extraordinary things through the grace and power of the Holy Spirit. Operating in a culture of Honor that allows for people to feels safe and grow in confidence while in the church setting with accountability.
3) Our mission is to Release them into the local region, the nation, or globally to effect transformation by bringing the love and grace of the Gospel message and the demonstrative power of the Holy Spirit.

UP — Presence
Everything begins with Jesus. We want to be a people who know Him and live from His presence through prayer, worship, Scripture and dependence on the Holy Spirit.
IN — Family
Church is family. We believe spiritual formation happens through real relationships and shared life—loving one another, carrying one another's burdens, breaking bread, encouraging one another and growing together into maturity in Christ.
OUT — Mission
Every follower of Jesus has been invited into His mission. We want to make disciples where God has placed us while also participating in the Great Commission among the nations.
Going Up
Intimacy with God
Scriptural Foundation:
Matthew 6:6: "But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you."
Psalm 46:10: "Be still, and know that I am God."
Insight and Application:
The "Up" component is centered on deepening our relationship with God. Our Sunday gatherings have been infused with profound worship sessions and communion, focusing on a heart of pouring out oil on the feet of Jesus and deepening our connection with the Lord. In the future, we plan to increase times of communal worship and prayer, reiterating a disciple making emphasis on Prayer and Dependence on God. Like sunflowers turning toward sunlight, our spiritual growth is nurtured by our unceasing communion with God.

Echoing the spirit of the early church (Acts 2:42-47), these moments foster deep community bonds. Looking ahead, our vision is to spend more time in homes, enhancing these ties and creating authentic, lasting connections. The disciple making principle of Rapid Reproduction resonates with our intent to spread faith through these intimate gatherings.

The "Out" imperative propels us to evangelize and disciple beyond our church confines. We're committed to seeing the Kingdom flourish, with new believers added and the potential birth of house churches or even the planting of other churches. With the disciple making principles of Obedience-Based Learning and Person of Peace Strategy, we're motivated to actively live and share our faith. As we continue our dedication to Discovery Bible Study, we mirror the Bereans' fervor (Acts 17:11) for the Scriptures.
